We need to recruit a bright and ambitious individual who can support the Planning & Insight Director immediately as part of an expanding insight team. This person ‘gets’ storytelling. Storytelling that builds brands and can help manage reputation. The work is varied and a desire to understand very different businesses, consumer, corporate or professional is very important.
Research Requirements
Qualitative research
The candidate will have strong qualitative research skills. They will need to be able to contribute to the design of research methodologies and demonstrate innovative thinking in terms of recruitment screeners, activity guides/discussion guides, and analysis templates. They will have experience of traditional focus group research and online asynchronous research techniques, ideally from an international perspective. They will be used to deliverables from this type of research being e.g. identified influencers, barriers to trial, message/proposition co-creation etc. They will have practical experience of dealing with qualitative research suppliers such as recruiters and research platform providers.
Social listening
The candidate will have experience of social listening and analysis techniques. They will have an understanding of online research design and will be familiar with different web crawler tools.
Trend research
MSL London has access to a variety of different knowledge and research resources and is part of the broader Publicis knowledge and research working group. The candidate will have an understanding of the relevance of trend identification to a communications agency, not least in the context of hypothesis creation and the framing of insight. The candidate will be expected to work with account teams to ensure that they remain skilled in the use of these resources so that their teams remain up-to-date with trends relevant to their sector.
The candidate will be expected to manage the commercial relations with the various resource suppliers.
Quantitative research
The candidate will have a grasp of basic statistical knowledge.
This individual will be bright, forthright, organised and hard working. In addition to the research skills outlined above they will be an excellent communicator, verbal and written and they will have presentation skills (ppt is a must) including client presentation skills and they will be used to pitching for business. He/she must have at least 5 years relevant experience and at least 3 years experience working in or with communications agencies.
